11/19/06: 20% more visitors during the EXPO REAL

Rising international investments in Germany and the growing presence of providers from other European markets characterise the current trend of the EXPO Real. The 9th international trade fair for commercial real estate in Munich was a great success this year: 21,000 visitors (+20%); 1,638 exhibitors from 40 countries (+15%, and growing numbers of exhibitors from abroad (+35% compared to the previous year); exhibiting on 25,000 m2 floor space the Expo Real is Europe’s most important real estate trading fair.

In particular, the growing markets in Eastern and Southern Europe use the industry’s meeting place to maintain contacts with investors. Also at this time the presence of trade chains was greater than ever. They used the quantity and quality of contacts on their search for new locations and partners.

The successful concept of the fair was topped off by more than 100 events in the course of the adjoining conference programme, where specialists in the real estate industry discussed the newest market trends.

A big audience was drawn to the panel discussion during the course of the highly visited Retail Dialogue, where Carl-Otto Wenzel of Wenzel Consulting Pty. Ltd. (member of plan 4 21) together with other experts discussed the question, if mega malls become mega flops for the surrounding cities in this country.

Visitors were able to hear about the retail outlook in Germany and also find out about the new property rating agency DIRA during the events at the stall of BulwienGesa AG (also member of plan 4 21).

The stall of Berendes Consulting (another member of plan 4 21) also enjoyed great popularity as they discussed potential projects in the investment sector.

04/24/06: Berlin and Brandenburg – turntable for Eastern European contacts

Berlin and Brandenburg define themselves as a turntable between East and West. In doing so, they refer to their long-time experience in regards to co-operations with MOE. An internet data base named MOEPlus, an instrument of the MOE-Initiative of Berlin’s Senate Chamber, shall assist with initialising contacts.

On the website http://www.berlin.de/rbmskzl/europa/europapolitik/moeplus.html all East- West actors of the Berlin and Brandenburg regions have the opportunity to present their competencies in the sphere of co-operation with Central and Eastern European countries, give contact person details and – if others are interested – seek and offer co-operation via a contact platform. This service is free of charge.

Naturally, the website also shows the Berlin members of plan 4 21, such as Rödl & Partner Berlin – the tax consultancy and accounting association that advises enterprises from Berlin and Brandenburg with their Eastern European activities and also assists Eastern European enterprises with their entry into the German market. The association moved a short while ago and meets its clients now at Straße des 17. Juni. There – from the offices at the11th floor – clients can glimpse a picture of the entire city of Berlin.
